“Educators committed to attaining and remaining at the top of their profession invest much energy in staying informed and increasing their skills” (Danielson, 2007, p. 102). Learning doesn’t stop at the completion of a college degree, it has only begun. Currently technology is developing at a rapid rate. It seems the moment I grasp how to use a certain type of software, a new version is unveiled. At my elementary student teaching placement I have already had a number of opportunities to incorporate technology in physical education. Just the other day I taught a lesson using a yoga “app” I found on iTunes. I was able to configure a projector to a laptop, display the yoga movements on a screen, and teach a class of 5th graders yoga. Another great learning opportunity that I have taken advantage of is attending the NHAPHERD conference. By attending the conference, I am able to learn from experienced professionals in the field of physical education and expand my knowledge and pedagogical skills.
